Lake Balaton is a popular lake in Europe. It is the largest sweet water lake in central Europe. It is a stylish resort not only for Hungarian citizens but for visitors from overseas.

The lake itself is 77 km long and its widest point is 14 kms. Its average depth is 3m meters and the deepest point is called Tihany well and it 11 m.

Why is it a fashionable holiday spot. Regard having young ones for example. During the time you visit any beachfront you must be frightened when your kid goes for a swim and the water gets really deep quickly. Or the salty water burns your skin. Well none of theses are likely to occur to you in Lake Balaton. The water is shallow, but should you wish to swim you may get beaches with deeper water as well. Considering that its not deep the sun heats up the water very fast. And about saltiness. Certainly not. Just sweet, smooth and clean water.
